Societas Maria Regina Caeli - Mary Queen of Heaven - is an non-profit ecumenical society with the aim of promoting knowledge and love of Mary the Mother of God and her role in God's plan of salvation. The society grew from a prayer group in St Lars Catholic parish in Uppsala, Sweden and was formed in 1996. The society is open to all who share the society's intentions.
We want to contribute to a spiritual renewal and deepening of both the external and inner life through prayer, meditation and contemplation. In prayer we build up the relationship with God, but also the relationship with our fellow men – praying for each other. If we learn to love God with all our heart, we can create space within us to receive his peace and presence. Prayer and meditation are therefore always at the center of the society´s activities. Mary is contemporary and wants to lead us to a better understanding of Christendom. Our Lady is our perfect model, so we want to act with Mary and in Mary, and for Mary. St. Augustine calls Mary the living
“mold of God.”.

Our Emblem
Föreningen Maria Regina Caeli emblem The Societas Maria Regina Caeli’s emblem represents the Virgin Mary with a crown and halo. She is placed on a throne and is surrounded by the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, This is shown by six doves enclosed in circles encircling her. A seventh dove is represented by the baby Jesus holding planet earth in his left hand and the right hand held out for blessing.

The Virgin Mary the pathfinder
he Society Maria Regina Caeli wants to put The Virgin Mary, the Savior's Mother as a pathfinder in every person's life. Through her wholehearted yes to God, she is our role model in the relationship between God and man.
When we turn to Mary, she leads and inspires us with a tender love which encloses all aspects of life. She demonstrates the ability to combine a deep contemplative life with an active and outward-looking life. She teaches us to pray, to love God and that God longs for our response, our love.. Above all, she conveys that we all are loved by God. Mary is with us today and she have her rightful place beside her Son.

Conferences
The society also organizes conferences to promote the role of The Virgin Mary the Mother of God in our time. The society wants to promote healing of the relationship between God and man.
One of our goals is to create a center of knowledge of meditation, prayer and healing with a chapel and a library - a gathering place for prayer and healing in the sign of unity.
